[jira] [Commented] (RANGER-721) Central distribution of files to Ranger plugins

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RANGER-721?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15082478#comment-15082478 ]

Don Bosco Durai commented on RANGER-721:
----------------------------------------

Ranger team, would getting the jars from a HDFS folder by the plugins be an acceptable solution for distributing the jars?

We could also use it to copy IP database files and other data that is needed by the plugin.

Any thoughts?

> To setup Ranger with repositories that are using custom ContextEnricher and ConditionEvaluator implementation, I need to install the JAR files (with my custom dynamic-policy implementation) to:
> * Ranger Admin UI software
> * each Ranger plugin for each repository that is registered within Ranger admin
> As a system admin, I would like to have simple centralized distribution of those plugins across all Ranger plugins, so I do not have manually manipulate with the JAR files every time we introduce a new custom dynamic-policy.
