[jira] [Updated] (SOLR-3010) solrj: submitting more than one stream via CommonsHttpSolrServer fails

Hoss Man updated SOLR-3010:
---------------------------

Description: Possible regression of SOLR-2230 on trunk? (was: If you are using an HTTP-client (CommonsHttpSolrServer) to connect to Solr, you are unable to push more than one File/Stream over the wire.
For example, if you call ContentStreamUpdateRequest.addContentStream()/.addFile() twice to index both files via Tika, you get the following exception at your Solr server:

15:48:59 [ERROR] http-8983-1 [org.apache.solr.core.SolrCore] - org.apache.solr.common.SolrException: missing content stream

Seems that the POST body send by CommonsHttpSolrServer is not correct.
If you push only one file, everything works as expected.)

             Assignee: (was: Hoss Man)
Summary: solrj: submitting more than one stream via CommonsHttpSolrServer fails (was: CLONE - solrj: submitting more than one stream/file via CommonsHttpSolrServer fails)

Rob: SOLR-2230 added a SolrExampleTests.testMultiContentStreamRequest which verifies that multiple "addFile" calls on ContentStreamUpdateRequest work properly. it's possible that there is still a bug when using addContentStream, but since addFile is a just a thin wrapper arround addContentStream that seems unlikely -- so i don't actually think this is a regression of SOLR-2230.

are you only seeing this problem with the extraction request handler, or with all handlers?

are you only seeing this problem with your SolrByteArrayContentStream? (that's not a solr class, so we really need to see that code to verify that it's working properly)

I suspect the issue here is that some other error is happening (possibly because SolrByteArrayContentStream isn't working properly?) and the real error is getting swallowed up and lost in place of a more vague "missing stream" error.
