[users@httpd] How many log-files can I have?

Hi,
I heard, that I can't have unlimited number of log-files. I'd like to know, 
how many log-files can I actually have on linux kernel 2.4.21 and how many 
can I expeted on kernels 2.6.x 

Is there anybody, who can tell it to me?
