Found that tcpListenAddress="auto" caused the problem.
Specifying an explicit addres (e.g. tcpListenAddress="172.16.168.97") cured the
problem. Seems that under "auto" its trying to resolve "172.16.168.97" as
hostname (or reverse lookup, I'm not sure) which would obviously fail.
