Cocoon Forms builder
Hi,
Are you aware of any tool which allows to build CForms graphically,
similar to how many Eclipse plugins ?
We have a limited set of XML fields, need to create (or find) a tool
to build forms through the GUI for non-programmers.
If not, how would you build such a tool,
any building blocks ?
Any help is very appreciated.
TIA,
Oleg Konovalov

I think, that project died about 2006 :-(
Pity !

Job,
What I need is a Forms Builder tool (probably visual stylesheet editor,
so non-tech user can take XML Schema, select elements he needs, lay them on the screen,
add some validations including individual fields and field1+field2+...=total)
and be able to submit that info to the host.
That's what Altova StyleVision does, but it's only ActiveX/IE.
AFAIK, there is no tool like that in Cocoon world (if not, please correct me!)
It probably should be an Eclpse plugin, I can't build it myself. :-(
Chiba doesn't have such tool.
Orbeon has Forms Builder in alpha (can't even save generated Xforms file yet).
IBM free Visual Xforms Designer/XML Form Generator seem to be in beta and long abandoned
(Eclipse 3.2 only)
I started looking at IBM Lotus Forms (eForms). Any idea about it ?
Does it require some IBM servers (e.g. WS portal)?
Thank you,
Oleg.

If you are looking for XForm tools you should check out orbeon and
chiba. They are both pretty decent.

Cocoon versions for Java 6
Posted by Laurent Medioni <lm...@odyssey-group.com>.
Hi,
Anyone knows if a Cocoon version is validated/intended for Java 6 ?
Sorry Googled a lot but to no avail...
We plan to move our 2.1.11 application to Java 6 and already had a nasty Reflection issue for arrays with 1.6 described in http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6434149
And I noticed that there are a lot of occurrences of these calls in 2.1.11...
Thanks.

Hi,
Does anyboby know of any visual editor (designer mode) for XSL sheets ?
Currently my users use Altova (XML Spy) StyleVision, but it's ActiveX
and requires plugin to run and can't run in anything but IE. :-(
Thank you,
Oleg.

Yes, I was referring to the XSL sheets that came with Cocoon.
Creating a graphical design interface for creating such stylesheets would be an, um, interesting exercise - but its certainly too complex a task for me. My users have to just live with the designs I give them
:-) or ask for me to change them by hand...
I have not looked at XForms.

Jose and Robby: This looks like a bug but I believe in Maven's plug-in
not Cocoon's meta-data. Could you add a report to
JIRA? I may have a look into this in a week or so.
