       Thanks, I didn't think of that syntax for the declaration.   If we're going that route, how would you feel about simplifying it to 
   
   ```
   resolved_tags = tags or {}
   resolved_tags[f'kubernetes.io/cluster/{clusterName}'] = 'owned'
   ```
