How Array-,Vector-,Base64-,ParameterSerializer works

Now it comes, maybe some you you think this questions
are a little bit stupid. But I just want to be sure I
have understood the code :-)

Can somebody explain in one or two sentences how the
ArraySerializer do its job. What kind of "Arrays" are
meant?

Whats with VectorSerializer, Base64Serializer,
ParameterSerializer? How did they work internally. I
am looking just for a short, little bit more technical
explaination.
