[users@httpd] Logging the number of activated requests

Hi,
Testing and logging Apache, I want to know how many requests are activated on
the server at the same time. This because I want to get a log of the stress
on the server. Alias, when a new requet arrives, how many requests the server
has queued or began to process and not finished ?
Is there an ENV variabile that I can include in my Logformat ?
Something with the following format %{...}e ?

thanks for hints
alfonso
