Key: OFBIZ-2312
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-2312
Project: OFBiz
Issue Type: Sub-task
Affects Versions: SVN trunk
Environment: XP FF3
Reporter: Jacques Le Roux
Fix For: SVN trunk
I was to create an issue for each styling flaws in smoothfeather, but it's far too mcuh work. So I have created only one issue to list what we find.

David,
Issue 1 : it's a bit better but on Windows with FF3 not quite right.
I wondered how to "close" (sub-)issues here. I thought about removing comments but using -understrike- with a notice should be far better. You get -understrike- using \-understrike\-

Adrian's comment on user ML
The current default and bluelight themes are scalable - you can change the font size from your browser. The smoothfeather theme is fixed pitch - you can't change the font size.
Also, smoothfeather doesn't fit on my screen. That theme won't be usable where I work because many of our users have their screen resolutions set to 800x600.
When designing themes, keep in mind that back office workers might have poor eyesight, or may be blind. The developer community put a lot of work into making the current theme accessible. *If the default theme is changed, maybe we can market the current theme as the accessible one.*
And I added.
Also we may associate recommendations (resolutions, browsers, etc.) with each theme and show these recommendations in the themes gallery

Issue 11
Size of screen and resolution used by default
Adrian's comment on user ML, Hans's comment on user ML. Hans gave an example, there are tons https://localhost:8443/projectmgr/control/MyTimesheet
Smoothfeather doesn't fit on my screen.
Yes, The default size is too large, you need to have a wide screen to see it correctly, especially with IE. And there are still a lot of people using 1024*768 resolution in the world http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_display.asp
And even using FF3, Chrome Opera or Safari with a wider screen (1680*1050) you get an issue when looking, for instance, at the Store (the store infos are wrapped). And I don't speak about having a panel open at left, etc. Also, IMO, the order view in only one column is not easy to read, YMMV
*Also we may associate recommendations (resolutions, browsers, etc.) with each theme and show these recommendations in the themes gallery*

Actually I did not notice at 1st glance but there is still (at least) an issue related to previous issue 5.
In the ViewProfile page, the second column overlap on some fields of the 1st column
It may help : if I scale down the font size by 2 (Ctrl+- 2 times in FF3) it's ok.

It's now for bizznesstime, we should drop smoothfeather ASAP (it's not working anyway).
We may choose the name (keep smoothfeather ?), but I would say that for the sake of politeness to the creator, we should keep the
name he gave to it (so, to be clear, bizznesstime, thanks Ryan!)

Issue 10
Adrian's comment on user ML
The current default and bluelight themes are scalable - you can change the font size from your browser. The smoothfeather theme is fixed pitch - you can't change the font size.
Also, smoothfeather doesn't fit on my screen. That theme won't be usable where I work because many of our users have their screen resolutions set to 800x600.
When designing themes, keep in mind that back office workers might have poor eyesight, or may be blind. The developer community put a lot of work into making the current theme accessible. *If the default theme is changed, maybe we can market the current theme as the accessible one.*

For me in the new Buziness Time theme issue 5 is fixed (but a little quirk on WIndows/FF3 with <Through Date> out of "screen").
But as it was an Ashish's comment I let him express himself about this issue :)

Issue 5
Ashish's comment on user ML
The ViewProfile page is one of the page that contains heavy data (refer to link in issue 4)
* The other links like "Billing Account", "Financial Accounts", "Communications" are placed vertically and that should be placed horizontal separated by piping symbol (or some better option) so that we could save the page area vertically.
* Its difficult to understand starting of new section heading and its associated block like we have sections by heading "Personal Information", "Contact Information", "List Related Accounts". For example its difficult the read the details present in "Payment Method Information" that is next block of "Loyality Points".

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Issue 10

On the search result form sometime it shows the link for ID fields on mouse hover but sometime don't show.
This has been also noticed by Hans and he gave an example. After a search on parties you can't get to a party : the link does not work

In the new Buziness Time theme issues 7, 8 are fixed.
IMO 9 and 10 are also but I would prefer if Adrian could confirm, because I did not see the issue 9 even in SmoothFeather and I'm not sure 10 is totally correct, but it seems to work yes.
So to summarize, if we agree on 9 and 10, only 2 trivial issues remain (using WIndows/FF3)
# login and pwd zones are still too long in login screen
# in ViewProfile page <Through Date> is out of "screen"
As soon as those issues will be fixed we can close this Jira
Thanks
