This is a ClassNotFoundException. Can someone ensure that the java (PersistentImageReader) is getting compiled properly? The problem likely lies somewhere in there but I cannot do it at the moment, sorry.

I now got rid of earlier error, tested and Thumbs.db does not make any difference, images will still not appear in Windows.
input.xmap specifcially excludes 'Thumbs.db' as one of its exclude parameters anyway.

Tested this whilst testing the new release..
The plugin downloads and installs fine.
Goto localhost:888 I get "Internal Server Error" : org.apache.forrest.dispatcher.transformation.DispatcherTransformer.
Error log attached.

Red Herring there sorry, I just tried it, *.small.jpg and *.thumb.jpg are still created at 0 bytes.

I haven't said that, but I will. The thumb/small variant stuff was

Tim was pointing out a class error which I had experienced whilst testing
RC1, the error.log file attached was due to that, nothing else. I now do
not get this error any more.
But your right about the error possibly being in the java file anyway, they
are not being created. Things 'seem' fine in there, and why would it all of
sudden stop working on Windows when that file hasn't been changed in a
while. You did say that this used to work on Windows. I was wondering if a
change in the way plugins are being deployed (locally) whether it might be
a permissions thing as to why the thumbs and smalls are not being created,
long shot, but I haven't been looking at it long enough probably.

It has nothing to do with Thumbs.db, the thumbs are being created by the
image reader, there error is almost certainly in there, as Tim pointed out.

Yes, sorry I should not have been doing quick tests of Jira Issues whilst
testing an RC. That Java Issue has now gone away, but thumbs are still not
being displayed, even though thumb views are being displayed when browsing
the folder in Windows.
Like I said in the issue, because Thumbs.db are being specifically excluded
then I can't now see how this would be affecting the problem experienced
by Windows users.

I wonder if this is related to the recent removal from svn of the thumbs.db files. Even though the plugin does not use the Windows-specific file, perhaps it is necessary. Would someone on Windows please view the raw images (which i presume should re-create the missing thumbs.db) and try this plugin's 'forrest run' and view the galleries.

When running 'forrest' from within the plugin, the thumbs and smalls are created in the /gallery/demo/ directory, but they are 0 bytes in size.
