[DOC] Help with updating Install Guide sections needed
Hi All,
I'm looking to convert a few of the leftover sections of the Install Guide (pre-Apache) into XML and incorporate into the new documentation format. Outside of a straight conversion, a few of the documents require some review in order to bring the documentation up to date.
For each section, I'm looking for someone who would be willing to serve as an "expert" that I can ask to review and gather any new information from.
Here are the sections I need help on (the Jira has a word doc associated with the documentation in question attached):
- Global Configuration Settings (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-1598)
- Storage Setup (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-1597)
- Choosing a Hypervisor (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-1596)
- Best Practices (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-1599)
If anyone has any interest or would be willing to help out, please let me know!
Thanks

I'd just go straight to the users list to ask for the review. If you
get silence, then do it again on dev and we'll nudge relevant folks.

Chip/David,
Sounds good to me. I've seen emails in the past that go to both lists (-dev and -users). In this case would it be a good idea to draft an email per topic and send out 1 email that copies both lists?
I'll get started on the conversions and then on the discussions after that.
Thanks,

That strategy worked very well for me recently - providing a chunk of
documentation for folks to review on -users found tons of problems
that I personally missed.

Scratch that - Sorry Jessica / Radhika.
David's looking for technical reviewers.
David -- I think that the challenge here is that the actual material
for each of those docs is very broad. Perhaps the right way to
approach this is to attempt the fix, submit it, and initiate a content
discussion (per topic) on the dev list. We can also consider asking
for content reviews from cloustack-users@i.a.o, given that best
practices, choosing a HV, etc... are all things the the user
community may be qualified to help with.
Sound OK?
