[jira] Commented: (XERCESJ-1304) Xerces at Maven Central Repository

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/XERCESJ-1304?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12694191#action_12694191 ]

Can we re-open this bug please?

The metadata for Xerces in the repo (at: http://repo2.maven.org/maven2/xerces/xercesImpl/maven-metadata.xml ) is broken.

Does NOT list 2.8.1, 2.9.0. or 2.9.1 which are present in the repository (how does this happen??).

That means if I create a dependency of the form:

<dependency>
  <groupId>xerces</groupId>
  <artifactId>xercesImpl</artifactId>
  <version>[2.9,2.10)</version>
  <scope>runtime</scope>
</dependency>

I get the error  "Failed to resolve artifact. Couldn't find a version in [2.0.0, 2.0.2, 2.2.1, 2.3.0, 2.4.0, 2.5.0, 2.6.0, 2.6.1, 2.6.2, 2.7.1, 2.8.0] to match range [2.9,2.10)".

Please fix!  Thanks.

> Maven2 users would greatly appreciate that the latest versions of Xerces-J were available at the Maven Central Repository. Currently, the last version there is 2.8.1, which is now a bit outdated.
