I'd insert "and " just before "consuming".

IMHO ROA is the appropriate antonym for SOA. AIUI CFX is SOA, not ROA. i
think the phrasing is more natural with just SOA (leaving REST).

+1 that was my point, thank you for clarifying :-)

Its unfortunate that the battles between the WS-* & REST folks over the
years were billed as REST vs SOA.
The emerging consensus is that a good service-oriented-architecture
contains a healthy dollop of restful services. Thankfully SOA isn't
synonymous with, or exclusively bound to WS-* anymore :)

Agreed! SOA and REST can complement each other very nicely thank you
very much. However, I think that it's important to bring the REST stuff
out; let's not restrict CXF to be just about SOA.

*tip-toeing around potential flames* ... I wouldn't specifically call
out SOA & REST design principals.
Personally, I consider REST to be a perfectly acceptable (desirable,
perhaps even ideal) design principal that one should use within an SOA.
Therefore, I don't really see the need to explicitly call out REST in
this clause.

RE: Apache CXF resolution feedback....

Posted by Frank Lynch <fr...@iona.com>.

RE: Apache CXF resolution feedback....

Posted by "Trenaman, Adrian" <Ad...@iona.com>.
Would you also add REST to that description, given our support for
JAX-RS?

"framework for creating, deploying, and consuming services based on SOA
and REST design principles"

Ade.

Seems to capture the spirit of the project.

I'd insert "and " just before "consuming".
