Project compiles, widget can be added to the page but it doesn't render. 
In logs: 
[INFO] [talledLocalContainer] ERROR: org.apache.rave.provider.w3c.service.impl.WookieWidgetService - Problem communicating with Wookie server
[INFO] [talledLocalContainer] java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://bombax.oucs.ox.ac.uk:8888/wookie/widgetinstances

Result in the Widget is a 400-bad request. Is the Wookie server down or do we call it incorrectly?
