It looks like `humantime` is not maintained anymore:

Many crates migrate to [`jiff`](https://docs.rs/jiff/latest/jiff/) which offers similar functionality using the `friendly` module.

There might be other crates out there, but `jiff` seems to emerge as the solution in this space.

I think now that humantime has a maintainer again, there is no reason to change the crate. See https://github.com/apache/arrow-rs/pull/7261#issuecomment-2734931843
