Anyone want to take a stab at submitting something for the newsle
tter?
Hi all,
I wanted to see if we could submit something for the next newsletter
(http://nagoya.apache.org/wiki/apachewiki.cgi?JakartaNewsletterDrafts/Issue8
March2003).
How about:
Turbine is a servlet based framework that allows experienced Java developers
to quickly build secure web applications.
Editor: Eric Pugh
Turbine has seen extensive refactoring over the last two months. Some of
the big changes have been in fully integrating the commons-fileupload and
commons-email jars as well as significant refactorings of the Security
Services and Pull Tools.
Additionally a new documentation project is being kicked off by Chris Chew:
http://nagoya.apache.org/eyebrowse/ReadMsg?listName=turbine-user@jakarta.apa
che.org&msgNo=14762
Anyone have anything else to add? Or comments to make?
Also, I noticed that eyebrowse only goes to feb for the dev list and march
for the user list. Anyone know how to subscribe eyebrowse back into the
lists?
Eric

Are we sure that we want to start announcing features of 2.3? Perhaps
if we are ready to release a beta version.......
Does anyone have anything else that they feel needs to be included in
2.3 before we release a beta version?
He had the following items but they can wait until 2.4 as far as I am
concerned.
1 - Ability to load Torque as an Avalon component and get rid of the
strutum lifecycle stuff. However, I have still not been able to get
enough free time to make the required changes to Torque.
2 - Get the Fulcrum services converted to components for release at the
same time as Turbine 2.3. again, not something I have had time to deal
with.
