Bigtop is a project for the development of a framework for packaging,
testing and maintaining Apache BigData and FastData software stacks.
The primary goal of Bigtop is to build a community around the packaging,
interoperability testing of Hadoop and other data-processing components,
cluster deployment and configuration management. This includes tools for
testing at various levels (packaging, platform, runtime, upgrade, etc.)
developed by a community with a focus on the system as a whole, rather than
individual projects.
Bigtop supports Debian/Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora, SUSE, and many others.
All open-source and commercial distributions of Hadoop are based on the Bigtop
framework.
