As far as I can see, this is platform independent, so, on Windows all sorts of "assert dialogs" may appear and stop execution of CC. Am I mistaking somewhere?

drlvm-test has been failing since this patch was applied.
You can trivially reproduce the problem by typing the following in the drlvm build dir:
"./build.sh -XDvm.assert_dialog=false test"
And you should see the error:
