Newbie-question: Adding directory to localhost-tomcat

Dear users,

I`m quite a newbie to tomcat.
I have installed it successfully on windows at

C:\Programme\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\webapps

If I start
http://localhost:8080 eveything is fine.

I created now a directory

C:\Programme\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\webapps\little_test

but when I call "http://localhost:8080/little_test/" I only get HTTP Status
404:

"......
message /little_test/

description The requested resource (/little_test/) is not available."

Can anybody give me a hint please?

Thank you very much, Kai

Just a silly question : is there something to show, in that directory ?
or is it just empty ?

Hello Chuck, Hello Awarnier,

thank you for your responses.
I created an index.html and eveything is fine now :-)

Best regards, Kai

Actually, Tomcat is installed at
C:\Programme\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0

The webapps directory under that is the default location for applications running under Tomcat.

Did you put anything in that directory? If not, then a 404 status is appropriate. If you did put something in little_test, what is it? You should have at least a welcome file (such as index.html) with some valid content.
