There are quite a few append-related tests (see HADOOP-2658 for a list of related issues) failed occasionally. Some of the tests use a random number generator. We should write the random number generator seed to log and, hopefully, we could reproduce the failure.

I tested it locally. It passed all the related tests in my machine.
Once the patch is reviewed, we can commit it without submitting it to Hudson since (1) the patch queue is long and (2) this only changes the append-related tests for debugging.
