Summary: Windows installation wizard searching for wrong msi
                    package
           Product: Apache httpd-1.3
           Version: 1.3.34
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows 2000
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: Build
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: misc@showalterdesign.com

Overview Description:

While upgrading from 1.3.33 to 1.3.34 using the Windows installer binary package
(apache_1.3.34-win32-x86-no_src.exe) installation terminates prematurely because
it can't find the msi for version 1.3.33.

Steps to Reproduce:

Run setup on a windows machine with v 1.3.33 already installed. Setup starts with:

"This setup will perform an upgrade of 'Apache HTTP Server 1.3.33'. Do you want
to continue?"

Click 'OK'

Actual Results:

Installation Wizard continues but halts during the 'Registering Product'
operation and produces the following error:

"Error 1316.A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file
C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\_is5F82\Apache HTTP Server 1.3.33.msi"

Installation then terminates prematurely after a click of the OK button.

Expected Results:

The installation wizard should not be searching for the msi for version 1.3.33.
It should only need the msi for version 1.3.34 and should complete the upgrade.

Additional Builds and Platforms:

I suspect this will occur on any windows machine where 1.3.33 is already
installed, but I do not have the facilities to test this.

Additional Information:

The documentation doesn't say anything about uninstalling to upgrade between
minor revisions, and the installer seems to support what I'm doing. Is this a
documentation problem?

I know this problem has been reported to you in previous versions, but not for
this version, and I have not found any resolutions. In light of this, I thought
I should report it again.
