The Projects releases page is misleading to users.

IMO, the releases page [1] is misleading to users.

It is not a valid download page, and does not link to proper download pages.

I think it should be deleted, or at least the links and the reference
to downloads and verification should be removed.

I would suggest that you understand how projects.apache.org is maintained to understand that the information for releases is voluntary and less than 75% complete. Same with DOAP files.

Rather than eliminate every possible place that’s imperfect, please join in the tooling team’s efforts with ATR as we design the catalog in a way that will grapple with these imperfections.

Quite agree.

But for different reasons - mostly because that page is useless in general.
It does not provide more information than just looking at
https://downloads.apache.org/ - it's basically redundant.
Other pages in `projects.apache.org` are quite useful - because they
aggregate some data - but I can't imagine any use of "releases" tab other
than just browsing downloads.apache.org has.

That works for me.

Alternatively, the links could link to a valid Project Download Page which would have to be maintained by the project.

Alternatively, the links could be to a canonical <project>.apache.org/downloads if it exists, or no link at all. That way, projects that maintain a downloads page would have a proper link and those that do not would not.
