That's probably because you are using HTML mail and no Subject.
Both of which are frequently true of Spam e-mails.
Try using plain text mail and a dummy subject (e.g. Index)
I tried that just now from GMail and got a reply from ezmlm saying that I was not subscribed (which is correct).
I did not get a Spam rejection message.
