DO NOT REPLY [Bug 118551] New: OpenOffice will not open/run
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=118551
Bug #: 118551
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: OpenOffice will not open/run
Classification: Code
Product: performance
Version: OOo 3.4 Beta
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows XP
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P5
Component: www
AssignedTo: issues@performance.openoffice.org
ReportedBy: john.hubbling@metc.state.mn.us
CC: ooo-issues@incubator.apache.org
I had MSOffice 97, MSOffice 2010, and OpenOffice 3.3 installed for several
months and everything worked fine. Then something happened. Now:
I can install MSOffice 97 and that will work.
I can install OpenOffice but it will not open/run: the hourglass starts for a
few seconds and then disappears and nothing else happens.
MSOffice 2010 not only will not run, but after removing it, the install will
not work. It won't even begin. I don't appear to have any viruses or malware.
But, OpenOffice will run in safe mode.
I have been unable to find any reference to this problem. Is it unique to me??

First, please note that this is no bug or request but a support question. For
those we have different channels (see
"http://support.openoffice.org/index.html"), but not this issue tracker.
It's not possible to reproduce such a senario. As long as it is not known what
exactly had happened when you say "Then something happened." it's not possible
to help.
