IMPORTANT: Please go check this out

...can someone other than me install this and check that it seems OK?

I'd love to release this tonight if we can get an "amen!"....

Source has been branched, tagged "alpha 1".  Once we release, we can get
started on the next round of changes.

I just tried getting the .zip and got an error page:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /axis/dist/alpha1/xml-axis-alpha1.zip
on this server.

Apache/2.0.22 Server at xml.apache.org Port 80

?????????
