I just ran the POS in Ubuntu 13.01 in a virtualBox in WIndows 7 w/o issues (I used the 1/1 credential)
I have also tried with R12.04 branch. It worked also, but the 1/1 credential was not accepted (surprising), using std admin cred. did it.
I will not test a release package though...
