Hello Jayaram,

I have added you to the developer group (with Jira id 'rsjay1976').
Below are some links I copied from earlier mails, just to get you started.
Note that if you plan to contribute larger patches to Apache, you must
fill out and submit a contributor license agreement. Don't hesitate to
ask for guidance if something is unclear. More information can be found
at http://www.apache.org/licenses/

You will find a lot of useful material on the following web pages:

http://www.apache.org/dev/
http://www.apache.org/dev/contributors.html
http://db.apache.org/derby/derby_comm.html
http://wiki.apache.org/db-derby/ForNewDevelopers
http://wiki.apache.org/db-derby/DerbyDev

The mailing lists used by Derby are listed at
http://db.apache.org/derby/derby_mail.html

Welcome to Apache Derby :)

BTW! Jayaram and I exchanged a few messages on the back-channel, where
we sorted out the password situation.

Regards,

Welcome Jayaram!
I unfortunately don't have permission to add you to the Jira developers
group but I am sure someone who does will add you soon. Meanwhile set up
your build and test environment and let us know if you have any
questions. Ross posted some rough outline information on the Mentoring
Programme (since Ross put up the page, he gets to spell it) and I hope
to post the application template soon. http://community.apache.org/
