Thank you. The version of pip was 9.0.1 and I upgraded it to 21.0.1. Pyarrow installed succesfully after that. Also I did have a typo in my command as you pointed out, and I will correct that momentarily.

 

The second issue is still there though. I have a library coded in C++ which I am trying to pass a pyarrow object into using pybind11. I can compile it without error, but I get the following error when I try to import the compiled code:

ImportError: <redacted>: undefined symbol: _ZN5arrow2py14import_pyarrowEv
