Does it *need* to receive mail too?  If so, we may need to create an address which we then forward onto your VM directly, so you can process it locally (as we dont have POP/IMAP running anymore)

I may not have thought through the reasons properly. I think we need the email address to allow tickets to be raised and commented on via email.

So for outgoing mail, would we be expected to use SMTP through port 25 on the VM or use the official apache SMTP server?
