Milestone release for wicket 2.0/1.3?

All,

Woudn't it be great if we could release our current progress as a
development build into the wild, and validate our progress on
licensing issues?

I think we could best address this by performing a milestone release,
which doesn't promise API stability, or bug-free operation, but will
be clear of licensing issues. This way we will be able to get our
licensing and packaging act together long before we actually go
beta/rc on our releases.

I am not sure where we stand with both 2.0 and 1.3 feature/bug wise,
but I would like to get the licensing issues done.

WDYT?

I have just returned from holiday, and hope to get the last license header
crap done tomorrow. (I don't know if anyone have done anything, while I was
away. I'm trying to get through ~300 mails ;)

I might want some help with some rewriting so we can try to get the first
release right. I'll get back when I know some more.

I think you are spot on about getting out releases that are clear of
licensing issues. This will be a major win for the project's incubation
- in fact, I would say it is the next big thing on our list.

actually jira is a better idea. it wont be intersperesed cause you can
filter on issue type - in this case these should be improvements/new
additions not bugs.

i guess someone needs to go in and translate our wishlist into jira

JIRA can do this for us :-), or perhaps this will cloud the view when
it is interspersed with bugs. +1 on wiki.

I would actually be confident enough calling 1.3 final right away
(1.3.0) or maybe do one release candidate first.

Typically we don't announce future releases, but actual releases ;-)

I think for this kind of stuff you could 'spam' the mailinglist, as
that gives you more exposure. And I think the new Wiki on wicket-stuff
can also give a good start to function as a CMS kind of thing.

> Are there relased date for Wicket 1.3 and wicket 2.0

No, we don't have a date for releasing them. We are contemplating a
first beta release for both 1.3 and 2.0, which I hope we can deliver
before the end of the year.

Hmm, the last two guys working on wicket-contrib-dojo were students
(now employees) at our company. I'll ask them.

I think it is:
    maven site
or
    mvn site

if you upgraded to maven 2.

To deploy automatically you need to follow the maven instructions, and
sf.net instructions to ssh the files to the
/home/groups/w/wi/wicket-stuff/htdocs/wicket-contrib-dojo
directory. Typically this is already available in the project.xml and
project.properties for maven 1.

Hi all,

Dojo-wicket-contrib is now full of new features. So I have now 2 questions :
How can I update wicket-dojo web site to make an annoucement of the future
jar release?
Are there relased date for Wicket 1.3 and wicket 2.0

Thanks

I agree with the sentiment, and I think a 1.3 release has more
priority than 2.0, but we can push out 2.0 as well... it's a beta
after all.

hmm my thing is the other way around

2.0 i dont know (we need to do more there i guess and there are some open
endings)

1.3 can be released now as beta if you ask me. We backported enough or are
people
also wanting other stuff?
We can release 1.3 much earlier as 2.0 if you ask me.
