How to force an exact version and avoid eviction by a later version

I have this conflict in my project

com.springsource.javax.servlet by javax.servlet 2.5.0 2.4.0

Version 2.5.0 is required by org.springframework.ws org.springframework.oxm

As I'm running in a 2.4 servlet container I definitely don't want either a
2.5.0 or a 2.4.0 jar in my WEB-INF/lib, as the app server will provide
these.

I did have this in my ivy file:

dependency org="javax.servlet" name="com.springsource.javax.servlet"
rev="2.4.0" conf="default->provided"/>

to try and stop the download, but it gets evicted by the 2.5.0 jar that
org.springframework.oxm requires.

How can I stop the jar downloads ?
