[jira] [Created] (KAFKA-2591) Remove Persistent Data before Restoringafter a Fault

Guozhang Wang created KAFKA-2591:
------------------------------------

Summary: Remove Persistent Data before Restoringafter a Fault
                 Key: KAFKA-2591
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-2591
             Project: Kafka
          Issue Type: Sub-task
            Reporter: Guozhang Wang
            Assignee: Yasuhiro Matsuda
             Fix For: 0.9.0.0

When the checkpoint is missing upon starting up, it should be indicating that the previous run is stopped uncleanly (or it is the first time running this process job), hence any persisted data is not reliable any more and we need to restore from the beginning.
