   Cleans up lots of tests that never run, remove related files + dependencies and some unnecessary deps, just use better/same parent pom details in some cases. The same tests run before and after the change.
   
   (Also simplifies changes needed to later update the ActiveMQ dep to latest, which removed some of the things the not-run tests covered.)
