Support for JDK 8

I downloaded Shiro yesterday and tried to compile the quick start and immediately got an error that I was using the wrong JDK version. So are people using Shiro with JDK 8 and just the quick start isn’t updated, or is Shiro still only supporting older versions of the JDK?
