I'm not sure I understand this, since it's an absolute URL pointing
directly to Taz, which *is* running Multiviews. Whatever.
I get the point of the other changes; thanx, Brian. I guess I just
assumed that the mirrors would be running multiviews. Do we have
any assurance that they're even running Apache? ;->
<VOICE POMPOUS>As we move into the future</VOICE>, maybe we should
encourage mirrors to run multiviews? At least for the mirror
portion? I'm an hopeless optimist, but I hope we'll be having
multilingual versions of some of the pages before the end of the
calendar year..

Ah, right - I figured if we have a standard in one place it should be standard
elsewhere, particularly if in some far-off future "www.apache.org" was on a
number of different IP numbers.

Hmm, not a safe assumption, and there's nothing on www.apache.org currently
that requires it. I can barely require mirrors to run HTTP - those that are
FTP-only are relegated to the /dist directory.
Multiple languages using apache's con-neg would be a very interesting feature.
If someone from the group wanted to tackle that, I'd support it. The first
wish list item for the mirrors, though, would be to get them to use cvsup to
update the mirrors, or get ProxyPass to work properly.
