can't get cocoon to work on Jrun, please help!!
I've been trying to get Cocoon 1.8.2 to run under Jrun but have been
unsuccessful. I have tried all of the suggestions that I have been able to
find, but have still had no luck. When I run the servlet I get the following
error:
Publishing Engine could not be initialized.
java.lang.RuntimeException: Exception when creating "

I am running it on a hosted site so I only have access to the Jrun
Management Console. I have also added the following line in my
local.properties file:
user.javaargs=-Djavax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory=org.apache.xerces.j
axp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl-Djavax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory=org.apach
e.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl
I don't have access to the global.properties file. Any suggestions would be
appreciated immensely. Thanks much.

Tamim Azizadah

Thanks much for the suggestion. Unfortunately I am trying to install this on
a site using an ISP and I don't have access to the JRun\lib\ext directory
and the ISP won't delete these files just for me, so I guess I am pretty
much out of luck. Someone else had suggested that I add the following line
to the local.properties file, but it hasn't worked for me either:
user.javaargs=-Djavax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory=org.apache.xerces.j
axp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl -Djavax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory=org.apac
he.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl
If there is any other workaround for this, I would greatly appreciate the
help because at this point I am just about giving up on this.
Best Regards,
Tamim

I too had similar problem with Cocooon-2.0 I did the following
1. Remove jaxp.jar and parser.jar from JRun\lib\ext
2. Copy xerces<*>.jar from cocoon\lib into JRun\lib\ext
3. set these jar files on class path of ur server.......
This may solve ur problem
