[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-14095) Remove serialization or support
serialization filtering
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-14095?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16997325#comment-16997325 ]
Robert Muir commented on SOLR-14095:
------------------------------------
If we really have to keep this stuff, I think the preferred way is to use {{jdk.serialFilter}} system property. This way, protection can be backported back to 8.x without requiring java 9: if the user has java 9+ then they get the benefit.

> Removing the use of serialization is greatly preferred.
> But if serialization over the wire must really happen, then we must use JDK's serialization filtering capability to prevent havoc.
