Hey Gang,

 I just wanted to drop a brief note to update you guys on the progress we've made so far with Tez...

 I apologize for sending this out directly, but I had a bootstrap problem since everyone wasn't on the MLs yet; we can, henceforth, continue conversations on the MLs. Please feel free to fwd this to others who might be interested if I've missed anybody.

 As of last week, we now have an initial version of the code, committer a/cs for everyone who needed them, jira, wiki and mailing lists.

 I'd appreciate if everyone here could subscribe to the following mailing lists:

 As described in the email, for now, we have a MR application built on top of the Tez runtime (Input, Processor, Output) alongwith a 'Tez Service' (tez-ampool) to run pre-launched applications for better latency.
