@xiezh1010 It depends on which failure, if the producer disconnected from the broker, and did not reach the send timeout, the producer will retry to publish the message. But if the message with sent timeout exception, it will not retry.
For the usage of asynchronous sending, if you got exception from the future which means the producer will not to retry.
