[General Apache project question] list of Apache projects and their build framework?

This question isn't about CXF, except for it being an Apache project.

Does someone know how to build, or if it's possible to determine, a list of all Apache projects and the build framework that project uses?

I tried to find a way to ask this on the main Apache site, but I don't see it.

You can get the list of projects and then go to each project and read 
the developers' guide.

I doubt if anyone has ever compiled such a list since each project is 
independent and has different requirements and a history of starting out 
as an idea in the mind of someone who had a tool kit that they liked.
