SVN to Git migration for Mail ?
Hi all,
We discussed the move to GitHub for the Mail spec / implementation a few times now.
From what I recall, I think, that we have consensus on that one.
At the moment, we have the broken mirror here: https://github.com/apache/geronimo-javamail and the spec is still in SVN.
Perhaps, it would be best to move the mail spec and mail implementation in a mono repo? I think, that we can also retain the related history for subfolders of a git repository (or migrated svn -> git repo) using filter-branch or subtree in git.
How should we proceed with it?
Can someone from the PMC create a repository via self-service and I will give the migration from the different version control sources into a mono repo a try (for the Jakarta version) ?
Gruß
Richard

Hi,
I migrated the mail spec and the implementation to a common repo: https://github.com/apache/geronimo-mail
The history is preserved for those two folders but I did some renaming / grouping.
Still needs some more love… :)

Hi,
If everyone is ok, I will create a new git repository named "geronimo-mail".
