What is the pending list and why can’t I deploy?

I am experimenting with how service assemblies are constructed and have
created a simple service assembly mirroring the included mysql-mart demo
service assembly. I am trying to deploy a simple HTTP listener connected to
a service which prints the HTTP data to standard out.

I was able to deploy the HTTP listener without issue but when I added the
print service the HTTP listener stopped deploying, now when I remove the
print service, the HTTP listener won’t deploy. I keep getting

INFO - AutoDeploymentService.updateArchive(264) | Components citytime-http
are not installed yet - adding ServiceAssembly citytime to pending list
INFO - AutoDeploymentService$2.run(508) | Directory: hotdeploy: Finished
install
ation of archive: citytime8.jar

My questions is what is the pending list and why is the deployment getting
stuck there? I assume an error but don’t see the error on the console.

For deployment I am dropping the citytime8.jar in the hotdeploy directory.

Implementation: FUSE-MySQL-1.1_win

Hi Guillaume,

Worked perfectly, guess I didn't understand the dependency on the
existing deployed infrastructure components. I had been under the impression
my components would deploy independently.

I needed to deploy my http listener (citytime-http) under
servicemix-http and my citytime-processor service under the
servicemix-lwcontainer.

	Thanks again for the clarification.

	James

The error you see means that your jbi descriptor in the service assembly
references a component named "citytime-http". This component is not
installed, so the deployment is left in a pending state and will be resumed
when the component is installed.
If you want to deploy an HTTP BC endpoint, you have to target an existing
component (I guess the original SA was refering to servicemix-http). If
this is the case, you should leave the "servicemix-http" component name
(this component should already be installed).

Cheers,
Guillaume Nodet
