logs question
I have some entries in my servlet.log and tomcat.log files that confuse
me. I have removed the examples context from the tomcat.conf file
(commented out the ApJServMount /examples /root line) and taken out the
<Context> lines for examples, "", and test from the server.xml file. I
did this to have my own mappings for my web applications. Things pretty
much work for me, but I still see lines in the servlet.log file setting
context path for /admin, /examples, and /test, even though these aren't
in my server.xml (or any other config file I can find). Also, my
tomcat.log file has addContext path entries for "/examples", "",
"/admin", and "/test".
Is there a problem with my configuration or is there no problem and I
should just ignore them? Thanks,
Lloyd

Moving the dirs did the trick. I hate to be petty, but it just made me
uncomfortable seeing those contexts getting loaded but still not being
able to access them. Thanks,
Lloyd

I'm something of a Tomcat newbie but since I noticed this a while back I'll
give it a swing. Tomcat automatically detects and initializes apps in the
[tomcat_home]/webapps directory. Delete/Move the
[tomcat_home]/webapps/examples, [tomcat_home]/webapps/admin and
[tomcat_home]/webapps/test directories to prevent them from initializing.
Alternatively, commenting out the <ContextInterceptor
className="org.apache.tomcat.context.AutoSetup" /> line in server.xml works
as well, only the apps added to server.xml manually start. But I'm don't
know what other repercussions this might have so removing the folders is
probably the best option;).
Hope this helped,
Troy
