Have you built the xercesc library yourself, or are you using a pre-built
binary? A pretty safe bet is that you are using a pre-built library built with
another C++ compiler and try to link it, which will fail. You must use the same
compiler for library builds and subsequent linking (and in some cases, e.g. if
the binary specification has changed, even the same version - this is highly
compiler/platform dependent).
Take a look at http://xml.apache.org/xerces-c/index.html, section "Platforms
with Binaries", for an overview of the compilers used for binary Xerces-C
distributions.
