/usr/bin/make test -- NOT OK

trying to install SA on a Mac OS X server 10.3.9

I installed all the prerequisites, had trouble with Net::DNS had to force
install an older version to get it to work.

I also installed most of the optional prerequisites, minus IO::Socket::SSL 
Encode::Detect

I am installing the latest version of SA through CPAN.

This is the message I get:

Running make install
  make test had returned bad status, won't install without force


So i looked to see more specifics, found these two items in the install
list....

Never used spamassassin before, fairly new at perl and CPAN.

Any help would be great, or at least point me in the right direction...
