It's possible to alter the properties of individual partitions using
the ALTER TABLE statement, but we currently have very little test
coverage for these scenarios.

We should add tests (both positive and negative) for the following cases:

ALTER TABLE tbl PARTITION partspec alter_op

where alter_op ==
SET FILEFORMAT
SET LOCATION
SET TBLPROPERTIES (shouldn't work?)
DROP PARTITION (shouldn't work)
ADD PARTITION (shouldn't work)
