Hey [~vthinkxie],

I'm really sorry that nobody has looked at this PR so far. I will give the changes in the PR a test to see where we are standing.
Since such a long time has passed since this initiative has started, I want to make sure that you are still available for this. If you are, I'll try to assist you as much as possible in reviewing this, and getting the change into Flink.
