HELP: How do I pompt up an logon error page for BASIC authenticat ion?

I am trying BASIC authentication with tomcat 3.1 (with fixes). However when
the user provides in valid username/password, the browser gets a blank page.

My question is:

How do I point the user to a logon error page?
