[jira] [Commented] (FLINK-3471) JDBCInputFormat cannot handle null
fields of certain types

Chesnay Schepler commented on FLINK-3471:
-----------------------------------------
This is expected behaviour. The JDBCInputForTat uses Tuples, which don't allow null values to occur.
The Table API may allow you to do this, among other things (like labeling columns i believe).

> JDBCInputFormat.addValue(..) is not safe against NULL values for types DECIMAL, NUMERIC, DATE, TIME, TIMESTAMP, and SQLXML. This makes it so that I cannot input data using any queries that will result in NULL values for any of these types.
