[jira] [Created] (LEGAL-252) BSD and "BSD-like" licenses
Andrew Palumbo created LEGAL-252:
------------------------------------
Summary: BSD and "BSD-like" licenses
Key: LEGAL-252
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LEGAL-252
Project: Legal Discuss
Issue Type: Question
Reporter: Andrew Palumbo
I'm unclear on whether BSD licenses are allowed in Apache projects. Whats more I'm looking at some other software that claims to be "BSD-like" licensed (but looks nothing like some of the licenses described in LEGAL-59 and from the License page on apache.org
The BSD license is the attached MPVAPICH-BSD.txt and the "BSD-like" is MPICH.txt.
Also can be found here:
- BSD:
http://mvapich.cse.ohio-state.edu/static/media/mvapich/LICENSE-MV2.TXT
- "BSD-Like"
http://git.mpich.org/mpich.git/blob_plain/HEAD:/COPYRIGHT
Thanks
